Geraldton hosts ACCWA State rally

Caravan enthusiasts from across the State headed to Geraldton at the weekend as part of the Association of Caravan Clubs WA’s State Rally.
The event, held once every two years, saw representatives from 37 clubs join the Midwest Caravan Club in taking in the region, with GBSC Sports Park playing host for the weekend.
The majority of participants arrived on Thursday, with the weekend seeing plenty of friendships celebrated and games played.
In total, 91 caravans made the journey to Geraldton, with the participants getting to see the sights, which included tours of the HMAS Sydney II Memorial and St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral.
With the help of a number of local businesses, including the Brigades Football Club who opened its doors for bingo on Thursday, the people were able to enjoy their experience in the Mid West.
Coffee, cakes, conversations, and tea were on the menu free of charge throughout the weekend, with volunteers happy to give up their time to provide the service.
Association president Ashley Hams said the Geraldton community made the club feel welcome.
“Caravanning in a club is considered to be a relaxing and enjoyable way to see Australia with friends,” he said.
“Coming to Geraldton for our 2025 biennial State Rally of clubs, has been a wonderful choice as there is so much to see and do here.”
Mr Hams added, “179 members from 20 clubs in the South West congregated in Geraldton for four days to participate in interclub games, meals, tours and relax over a coffee.”
