Singer Pravasthi Aaradhya, who has been a part of several singing reality shows since her childhood, recently made some serious allegations against Oscar winning composer MM Keeravani, SP Balasubramaniam’s son SP Charan, as well as the other judges of television show, Padutha Theeyaga Silver Jubilee, from which she was recently eliminated. In a long video on her Instagram, the singer accused these judges of bodyshaming her and making her feel worthless by commenting on her talent, disrespecting her mother and behaving differently towards her.

In the video, shared on her Instagram, Pravasthi claimed that one of the judges of the show, Sunitha gave her disgusted looks everytime she appeared on stage. “She badmouthed to Keeravani garu about my talent. I could hear it as my earpiece was plugged in and she was unaware about it.” She claimed, Sunitha’s comments on her changed the behaviour of “Naatu Naatu” lyricist Chandrabose as well as composer MM Keeravani, who were previously appreciative about her.

Pravasthi even claimed that Keeravani made a comment on her that hurt her deeply. “He was very biased towards melodies and his compositions. When I got eliminated, he looked at me and commented on how he dislikes singers performing at weddings.” Pravasthi sings at private events due to financial situation at her home. She further shared, “He also used the word ‘Chakiri’ (colloquial word for job) when describing the singers who work for him, which felt off.”

Pravasthi further complained about being bodyshamed by the production house on the sets of the show. “They treated me like I was worthless and cracked jokes about my body.” She accused the production team of forcing her to wear sarees and tie them low to expose her navel. “Even the costume designer told me to my face, he couldn’t dress me better because of my body.

The 19-year-old singer claimed these incidents have taken a toll on her self-esteem and confidence.

Pravasthi also targeted SP Balasubramaniam’s son, Charan and said he forced her to stay on stage and tugged at her hand. The singer claimed that the show was completely scripted, and often changed songs last minute to control the eliminations.

This came after the singer was eliminated from the show. However, she clarified that her elimination was not the reason for her sudden revelation and accusations.

She also warned singer Sunitha’s fans for bullying and harassing her online for accusing the singer of misbehaviour. “Stop treating celebrities like God. Don’t discredit my feelings just because you like their voice or talent.”

Now, Sunitha has reacted to Pravasthi’s claims. In a video on her Instagram handle, the singer said in Telugu, “Pravasthi when you started singing during your early years, when you were young, you used to sit on our laps and we used to appreciate your singing. But now that you are 19 years old and grown up, there is a way in which we should applaud your performance.”

She dismissed her accusation of changing song end minute and clarified that songs are excluded when the channel doesn’t hold right to it. “Pravasthi is well aware that songs are chosen based on broadcasting rights.” At the end of the video, a disappointed Sunitha said, “Youngsters today need to learn to accept failure.”
