Nitish Kumar Reddy cleared to join Sunrisers Hyderabad after being sidelined with injury | Cricket News

Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is cleared of the fitness test to participate for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2025 season. The all-rounder has cleared the yo-yo Test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. The 21-year-old has been sidelined by a side injury.
Nitish has last played for India in against England in a T20I at the Eden Gardens. Though he trained in the nets for the second T20I but was deemed unfit for the game and was eventually ruled out of the tournament.
Earlier Nitish had a fruitful tour to Australia where he impressed, making some valuable contributions including a gutsy 114 in the fourth Test at Melbourne.
The 21-year-old Nitish made his international debut against Bangladesh earlier in the year in October and went on to make his Test debut in Perth.
Nitish was retained by the Hyderabad outfit for Rs 6 crore ahead of last year’s players’ auction after he made 303 runs for them from 13 matches at a strike rate of 143.
“A few franchises wanted Nitish to get out of SRH and offered money over 15 crores,” Mutyalu Reddy said speaking to The Indian Express. “When I told him about the offers Nitish in return questioned me ‘Who gave us life, where did I get my name from?’ I replied SRH. Then he said ‘Why should I leave them? If I do leave for the franchise which is giving me more money I have to prove myself again, even if I fail once I will be benched. But with SRH even if I have a couple of poor scores they will back me.’ I encouraged him to keep going ahead with this thought process.”
