Throughout the season of Celebrity MasterChef, audiences were kept engaged with delicious culinary delights and heated exchanges between contestants in the kitchen. One such entertaining equation that kept everyone intrigued was the kitchen room clashes and complex bond between Nikki Tamboli and Gaurav Khanna. Both Nikki and Gaurav are known for their exceptional culinary skills and heated disagreements. In one of the episodes the duo was paired together and argued over which dish to present. Nikki was seen getting frustrated with Gaurav on several occasions too. From accusing Gaurav of copying her ideas to calling him out for not contributing enough – Nikki and Gaurav’s kitchen scenes are known for turning into fiery exchanges.
Despite their differences inside the kitchen, both contestants share a deeper bond and have shown immense respect for each other. In a recent episode, Nikki has opened up about her ‘love-hate relationship’ with Gaurav, stating that there has never been hate. “Dosti hamesha se thi, bas nok-jhok kitchen mein hoti rehti hai,” Nikki said, explaining how food has brought her closer to her father and her belief that it can bring them closer to anyone; hence, she and Gaurav have become good friends now.
Gaurav also agreed with her perspective and stated, “I never had an issue with Nikki being competitive. She’s hardworking. Yes, she’s stubborn – but I’m too.” Gaurav also explained how he expresses himself differently than Nikki, as he likes to let his food do the talking while Nikki is always the more vocal one. During the finale of Celebrity MasterChef, both Nikki and Gaurav were among the top five contestants. While Nikki’s layered prawn won her the first runner-up position, Gaurav’s honeycomb pavlova made him the Winner of this year’s Celebrity MasterChef.
Marked by both rivalry and friendship, Nikki and Gaurav’s bond has come a long way. As the season comes to an end, both Nikki and Gaurav’s shared passion for food has helped bridge their differences, and they have found themselves in a beautiful bond.
