Princeton University Has $210 Million in Grants From Nasa, DoD, Suspended
The Trump administration has frozen dozens of federal research grants, worth $210 million, to Princeton University, the school said Tuesday.
Princeton President Christopher Eisgruber said, in a campus letter, that the Ivy League school had received a notification that grants were being suspended by agencies including the Department of Energy, NASA and the Defense Department.
Eisgruber did not share the explanation of why the grants were being frozen, but he said in a statement that the school was “committed to fighting antisemitism and all forms of discrimination, and we will cooperate with the government in combating antisemitism.”
“Princeton will also vigorously defend academic freedom and the due process rights of this University,” he added.
