The mercury has continued to rise in Dehradun and other parts of the State with temperatures in various areas being recorded at above normal levels on Tuesday. The temperatures are likely to rise further today. The State Meteorological Centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in all districts of the State on Wednesday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 38 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 37.5 degrees Celsius and 21.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 38.7 degrees Celsius and 19.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 26.4 degrees Celsius and 13.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27 degrees Celsius and 13.7 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum and minimum temperatures were each three degrees Celsius above normal in Dehradun while the maximum was three degrees above and the minimum was two degrees above normal in Pantnagar.

Similarly, the maximum and temperatures were both three degrees above normal in Mukteshwar while the maximum and minimum were both one degree above normal in New Tehri on Tuesday.–
